84 Miles - 135 Km, this can be undertaken in anything from 4 to 6 days. This is in reality the Hadrian's Wall Path that was opened in 2003 as one of the English National Trails.

This route follows the complete length of Hadrian's Wall and is generally in an east to west line across first rising countryside before and equivalent descent to the Solway Firth on the second half of the route.

For the Roman enthusiast there are countless stopping point on the path to look at Wall and Fort remains or to visit museums full of Roman archaeological remains.

The sections in the centre of the path are the physically most demanding with short but frequent ascents then descents from one crag ridge to another. From the highest point (345 metres) at Windshields Crag there are views in all directions, picking up the Solway Firth, and on clear conditions, the Cheviots to the north.
